Last week, I wrote about how our brain works when we write by hand and why it enables better thinking.
Is there a difference between writing with pen or pencil?
I prefer pencils over pens. I wondered if there was any reason behind it… I asked Google (and ChatGPT), but didn’t get any neurological reasons.
Here are the reasons for my love for pencil (along with an eraser):
🟣 Writing with pencil gives me the psychological comfort that it’s OK to make mistakes… I can erase and make changes. This freedom takes off the pressure to perform, be perfect and explore ideas.
🟣 Back in school, I used pencils for drawing and sketching. Pencil for me has a strong connection with creativity. Picking up a pencil inspires me to doodle freely draw and jot down ideas. It easily puts me in a brainstorming mode.
Do you tend to grab a pencil over pen? What are your reasons?
