Sit with a five-year-old for 30 mins and you will end up fielding questions like:
· Why is the sky blue?
· Why can’t I fly like birds?
· Where did I come from?
· If fish can breathe under water, why can’t I?
· Why is sea water salty?
As you struggle to find the answers, maybe even desperately Google for responses, more follow-up questions get thrown at you.
Children are known for their curiosity. As we grow older, the curiosity tends to get tempered, even to an extent where we hesitate to ask questions. It may happen due to fear of judgment, or lack of time or stimulation or even overburdened with responsibilities.
Here are few things that helped me stay curious:
– Challenge myself to ask questions: get over the fear of judgment
– Be proactive: Take the initiative to seek out new information and experiences.
– Be openminded: Approach new ideas and information without any preconceived notions or biases.
– Pursue diverse interests: Explore a range of subjects and hobbies, it broadens the horizons.
Reflect on learning: it helps solidify knowledge and encourage deeper exploration. hashtag#curiosity
