Do you like Monday morning meetings?
I do as a manager! For me, it is a good way to kick-start the week: take a quick progress update and discuss priorities for the week.
I shifted away from Monday morning meetings, when I got feedback from a team member few years back. She said, “Padma, let’s plan our weekly meeting on any day other than Monday. It’s a horrible way to start the week.”
Here’s an article from Korn Ferry on Monday morning meetings:
➡️ A Monday meeting isn’t the team-building tone-setter that most managers think it is.
➡️ 47% employees think Monday is too early in the week for meetings. Whereas, only 15% said Monday meetings energized them for the week ahead.
➡️ The results underscore one more disconnect between managers and employees:
⭕ Managers are under pressure to show results and want to kick-start the week.
⭕ Employees in contrast would prefer easing themselves into work after the weekend.
