Social media

Tara is a young woman whose husband has slipped into coma after a car accident. Played by Kalki Koechlin in Waiting, overwhelmed and alone, Tara says,

“You know how many followers I have on Twitter? – 5800.

How many are there with me here: zero”

This statement underscores the digital world we live in today. We boast of 1000s (some even millions) of followers. We track likes, comments, shares – our impressions and engagement scores.

Have we ever paused to question: “How many out of these followers will stand next to me in times of need?”

Even simpler: “How many will miss me if I were to suddenly disconnect from social media? Will anyone bother to check – why I have gone silent?

What matters is genuine relationships: friends and family who stand by you in your darkest hours….
Any thoughts?
