Who is your best competitor?

Who is you best competitor? Spoiler alert – its closer than you imagine
As I went for my morning walk today, I started comparing my pace with others. “Oh, that elderly man has moved ahead of me, am I slower than him? Really?”

Few minutes later, I caught myself… I was astounded… I was competing for something totally irrelevant.

Guess, we are naturally wired to compete and measure our progress with others – friends, colleagues or even complete strangers. Competing with others can lead to self-doubt and a sense of inadequacy even when we are making solid progress.

In today’s world, the instinct to compete is magnified by social media. Imagine you are scrolling through Instagram. People are announcing promotions, role changes, posting gym selfies, traveling to incredible places, and living picture-perfect lives.

Everyone seems to be winning, except you! Oh… how we all know that sinking exhausting feeling….

What if we turn this competition on its head and say, “the only person you need to compete with is YOU?” It is liberating and empowering because:
🟢 Every win counts, no matter how big or small
🟣 You work on goals that matter to you, not because someone else is doing it
🔵 You push your own boundaries

So, next time you feel that itch to compare with someone, pause and ask yourself, “How can I be a bit better than I was last week?”

🏃 🏃 Remember, the only person worth competing with is the one you were yesterday.

Would love to hear your take on this…
