Imposter Syndrome – can it be you?

About 70% people, not just women, experience imposter syndrome at some point in their life. (University of Texas, Permian Basin).

Imposter syndrome is the persistent feeling of inadequacy and self-doubt despite evidence to the contrary.

Here are the five things that helped me deal with imposter syndrome whenever it plagued me.

1. Acknowledge it and accept that I am not alone, many people go through it

2. Share my feelings with people I trust, putting feelings into words helps me find a solve

3. Make a list of my achievements. And the capabilities that helped me accomplish these.

4. Challenge and counter negative thoughts.

5. Embrace learning – accept that I am on a learning journey; what I don’t know, I will learn along the way!
